Empress Silk (Laser Hair Removal)
Smooth. Sovereign. Eternal. Empress Silk is our luxury laser hair removal ritual designed to deliver long-lasting smoothness, precision, and freedom from daily shaving or waxing. Using the advanced diode laser technology from Luna Ray, this treatment offers safe, effective, and virtually painless hair reduction empowering you to reclaim your time, confidence, and glow.
HOW IT WORKS
Our diode laser uses a concentrated beam of light that targets the melanin in your hair follicle. The light energy converts to heat, safely destroying the follicle’s ability to regrow while leaving the surrounding skin undisturbed.
The Luna Ray diode platform allows for: fast, comfortable treatments, all-skin-type compatibility (including deeper tones), precision targeting for both large and small areas, and minimal downtime and reduced risk of side effects.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Laser hair removal with the Luna Ray diode system is a quick, effective treatment with minimal discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm snapping or flick, but the built-in cooling makes it highly tolerable, even relaxing for many Empresses.
You’ll begin to notice gradual hair reduction after just a few sessions, with each treatment weakening the follicle and extending the time between regrowth. There’s little to no downtime, so you can return to your day immediately glowing, smooth, and unbothered.
FAQs
How much treatment will I need?
For most Empresses, 6 to 8 treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results. This is because hair grows in cycles and laser can only target the follicles that are active during each session.
With each treatment, you’ll notice hair becoming finer, lighter, and slower to return, until eventually, many follicles stop producing hair altogether.
Some areas (like the face or bikini) may require a few touch-ups over time due to hormonal influences. However, most clients experience a long-lasting reduction that feels like freedom.
I’ll create a custom plan based on your skin tone, hair type, and goals because your path to smoothness should be as personalized as your glow.
Does it hurt?
Most Empresses are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable laser hair removal actually is especially with the cooling technology built into the Luna Ray diode system.
The sensation is often described as a light snap or flick, like a warm rubber band against the skin, but the cooling tip soothes as we go, making the experience quick, tolerable, and low-stress.
Some areas may feel more sensitive (like the bikini line or upper lip), but the treatment is over before you know it, and many clients say it’s far easier than waxing.
You’ll be supported throughout, and I always move at your pace. Comfort, safety, and results are sacred here.
What's the Downtime?
There’s little to no downtime after your Empress Silk treatment most clients return to their day glowing, smooth, and radiant.
You may experience some mild redness or warmth in the treated area, similar to a light sun-kissed feeling. This typically fades within a few hours.
For the first 24–48 hours, I recommend treating your skin gently: avoid heat (hot showers, saunas, hot yoga), skip exfoliating products or tight clothing on the treated area, protect your skin from sun exposure with SPF
Hair may begin to shed over the next 7–14 days, which is part of the process. This is your skin clearing space for a smoother, softer you.
No harsh recovery. Just softness, surrender, and a slow unveiling of your long-term radiance.
How long do results last?
Laser hair removal offers long-lasting freedom, but results vary based on your skin type, hair texture, and hormones.
After completing your full Empress Silk series (typically 6–8 treatments), most clients experience a dramatic, permanent reduction in hair growth with smoother skin and finer, slower regrowth in treated areas.
Some follicles may remain dormant for years, while others may need occasional touch-up sessions once or twice a year, especially in hormone-sensitive areas like the face or bikini line.
This isn’t just temporary smoothness, it’s a long-term shift in how your skin looks, feels, and lives. Once you’ve completed your series, you’ll spend less time shaving, waxing, or managing unwanted hair, and more time simply radiating ease.
Are there any side effects?
Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment when performed with care and at The Empress LA, your comfort and skin integrity are always sacred.
Most clients experience only mild, short-term effects such as: light redness or swelling (like a soft flush), temporary sensitivity or warmth in the treated area, mild itching or dryness as the skin begins to heal. These typically resolve within a few hours to a day and are simply signs your skin is responding to the light energy. Less common side effects may include: temporary pigment changes (more common in deeper skin tones without proper pre- and post-care), small bumps or follicular irritation, in very rare cases, blistering or scabbing often due to sun exposure or incorrect aftercare.
That’s why I always assess your skin type, tone, and hair texture beforehand and use the Luna Ray diode laser, known for its precision and built-in cooling to reduce risks. With proper preparation and post-care, your Empress Silk experience is designed to be both safe and transformative.
Preparing for Your Empress Silk Laser Hair Removal Appointment
At The Empress LA, your smooth skin ritual begins well before you arrive. To ensure the safest, most radiant results from your Empress Silk treatment, it’s important to prepare your skin with care and intention.
Two weeks before your appointment, avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or using depilatory creams, as the hair follicle must remain intact for the laser to do its work. Please also refrain from tanning, sun exposure, or using self-tanners, as your skin should be at its natural tone for optimal safety and precision. If you’re taking any medications or supplements, especially antibiotics or anything that increases photosensitivity, please inform me during your consultation so we can adjust your treatment plan accordingly.
Within 24 hours of your appointment, shave the area to be treated. The laser targets the follicle, not surface hair, so shaving (not waxing or tweezing) is ideal. Keep the skin hydrated in the days leading up to your session, but avoid lotions, oils, or deodorants on the day of treatment. Active skincare ingredients like retinoids, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid should also be paused at least 48 hours before your session.
On the day of your appointment, arrive with clean, dry skin and wear loose, comfortable clothing to allow easy access to the treatment area. If you’re sensitive to caffeine or alcohol, it’s best to avoid them beforehand to keep your nervous system calm and receptive.
Before you walk into the room, take a breath, set your intention, and let your body know:
“I release what no longer serves. I welcome ease, softness, and a smoother way forward.”
